YARA: Aesthetic, creative and confident.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR PRE-SPRING 2016 COLLECTION?
YARA: A 1970s color palette was the inspiration for the RE16 collection, Stonewashed denim, Sienna, Forest Green. I try to maintain balance in my designs, the juxtaposition of masculine/ feminine. utilitarian/ luxe are my main touchstones, the inspiration for the collection is never totally literal, and that's why we're able to mix pieces from present and past collections seamlessly. I'm more into the idea of creating a "language" than an encapsulated collection which exists in a very limited time frame.
WHAT IS YOUR UNIFORM?
YARA: Cropped Levis 501 and either the Mock Neck Muscle Tee or Oversized Tunic and ankle boots.
DESCRIBE THE AESTHETIC OF YOUR HOME.
YARA: Warm, minimal.
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO BEAUTY PRODUCT?
YARA: Crealine legere moisturizer and Make Up Forever concealer for under eye. Stila One-Step Illuminate Bronzer which gives a nice, translucent, natural color. I usually don't wear lipstick but if I do, I love orange and coral.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE?
YARA:
I love to travel whenever possible. Growing up in New York, I am used to the pace of the city, but it's necessary to get away, even just for the day. For a quick trip, I always find peace and inspiration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
