Temporary Store Manager
January–June 2025
Austin, Texas Flagship Store | Full time
Kick Pleat is seeking a temporary Store Manager for our Austin location while our current manager is on maternity leave. This role oversees daily store operations, drives sales, maintains merchandising standards, and leads a motivated team. We’re looking for someone who understands our brand, excels in a luxury environment, and can step in with confidence from day one.
Responsibilities
• Drive revenue and lead the team to consistently meet sales goals
• Motivate and coach staff on sales and productivity
• Hire, train, and evaluate team performance
• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising standards
• Ensure selling staff is educated in product knowledge and brand awareness
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities
• Oversee store inventory bi-annually
• Lead monthly staff meetings
• Conduct annual reviews for sales and operations teams
Requirements
• Ability to understand and represent the Kick Pleat brand and luxury client experience
• 2+ years luxury retail management experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and comfort with sales analytics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven leadership and problem-solving ability
• Skilled in building and maintaining strong client relationships

Stylist

We are looking for a full time Stylist and Sales Associate to create excellent client experiences and contribute to the business success. If you are passionate about high-quality fashion and looking to excel your career with a fashion leader, then we want to hear from you. Previous sales experience is essential. High-end fashion experience will be highly regarded.

We are looking to add to our current back-of-house team of motivated and enthusiastic individuals. This position will work closely with the Operations Manager and the e-commerce team.
Requirements for the role:
- Have a fine eye for detail and organization

Daily tasks included but not limited to:
- Accurately receive, prepare and steam all incoming inventory
- Ship web orders accurately and per company standards
- Facilitate and assist in inventory management
- Deliver in-store purchases to local customers
- Assist team with special events as needed
- Daily support tasks to the sales floor team
Back of House Intern

Reports to: General Manager and Operations Manager
Austin-based since 2003, KICK PLEAT is an independent, multi-brand luxury establishment with storefronts in Austin, Houston and Dallas. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how the business functions as a whole or expand your operational skill set.
Responsibilities Include(not limited to):
- Steaming! Prepare and steam incoming inventory daily.
- Light errands and local deliveries.
- Specialized projects to support the Kick Pleat team.
Requirements:
- Contributes to an outstanding working environment with a positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to assist others.
- Must be flexible to work retail hours, including holidays and weekends.
- The ideal candidate is a hard worker with strong communication and time management skills. Interest in luxury retail is a plus.
